One surface has a very noticeable stick-out sharp point. Some have uneven surface. But it has such a low price -- if you just want to have a Japanese necklace, this is a good buy. Well, at least the shinny luster is great.

First the necklace itself, then I'll heap praise upon the seller.I have a couple strands of fresh water pearls, but this was my first time purchasing a set of the Akoya pearls. They really are gorgeous and far more lustrous and shimmery than the fresh water pearls I have, really stunning. I should say that they are not all perfectly round, but then if they were I suspect this would be a five thousand dollar necklace instead, and honestly I think I prefer the slightly irregular shape as it makes them look indisputably real, while too perfect ones might be mistaken for fakes. These never will be.Now, a story in praise of the seller. When I purchased these they were running a special where you got a free set of pearl earrings. When the necklace came, there were no earrings though, so I went back on Amazon and figured out that I had made a mistake when I ordered them and I was supposed to add the free earrings to my cart, which I didn't do. Thinking it might be worth a shot, I emailed the seller asking if I might get the earrings anyway, despite my mistake. Imagine my surprise when he phoned me back in response, literally, thirty seconds after I sent the email. Even though it was my mistake and not his, he apologized and send me off a pair of earrings which I received yesterday. The earrings are as lovely as the necklace and a perfect match, and the seller is really quite an amazing guy. Considering the quality and the service, when I need more pearls, this is definitely who I will go to.
